About P'tach
The Dr. Oscar & Bernice Novick P’TACH Program was established over twenty five years ago to provide a Torah education to all children. P’TACH, a fully licensed program by the State of Illinois, renders individualized instruction, curriculum, & program adaptation so that children with learning disabilities, attention deficit, & hyperactivity can attain their academic potential & succeed like any other child.
The goal for every child enrolled in the P’TACH program is to be mainstreamed & integrated with their peers at the program’s host school. The P’TACH staff, who are all trained in special education, work in conjunction with the supportive & dedicated staff of the host school. This special relationship enables our children to receive a first rate education that best suits & addresses each individual’s strengths & weaknesses. As a result, the children are successful & equipped with a positive self-esteem.
Through the on going support of the Associated Talmud Torahs, P’TACH continues to provide a quality Jewish & secular education to over forty students in elementary school, as well as high school. The waiting list & the need, however, is much greater. Only the lack of space & funds inhibit the expansion of the program.
